I've added some awesome new NANA cosplay inspirations, and Halloween-inspired too!

As far as the costume idea poll goes, it looks like Yoruichi is taking a narrow lead, followed by Nana Osaki, so it may be between those two for December Toronto Anime Con this year ! Don't worry Fem-Kouga fans... I still want to do a fanart of the crazy manifestation that is FEM-Kouga, . It simply deserves a place. Next up will be having to figure out how much money I have for this cosplay T__T That might be tougher! But on the positive side, I also am determined to have my son go as Baby Gohan, just like this cute kid here:



Come on, is that not like the freaking cutest thing you've ever seen?!? I melt inside, really. This may sound odd, but even when I was a young lil girl, crazed over DBZ, I wanted to have a boy one day to dress as Gohan. And "et voila" the day has come. My lil guy just turned two 2 weeks ago, so he's just about ready to don Gohan's first cute outfit.

I've also decided recently, in follow-up to a previous journal, that I am going to keep this account fanart and artwork centered only. Sadly, I'll be removing my graphic design work. It just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest. On the positive side, I'll be making a separate account for graphic design, for those interested . I have a lot to share! I'll update again when I make the account, though it won't be premium, since I really can't pay for two

That's all that's new, OH, except the Paranormal Activity 2 trailer scares the CRAP out of me!!! Forget thaaat.

Okay guys. It's October. Roll out the pumpkins , the creepy Frankie dolls that talk when you move, and for the occasional cute kid that happens upon your door, a nice stash of candy

I think it goes without saying for any cosplayer that Halloween is an awesome occasion. Finally, we can don our sewn masterpieces of extensive labour in the general public and not get the odd eyeball, or airborne eggshell. Heck, we may even get better candy out of it. It's also a good time to trial run some of the cosplays that are in preparation for the next con season (assuming you live in a winter-plagued place like myself, where few good cons exist in these off-months). And really, it's also an excuse to do perfectly acceptable and even admirable ghetto cosplay (track pants and Naruto headband, anyone?) and still get "oohs and aaaahs" from neighbouring little ones (Look Mommy, It's Inu Yasha!! But where's his big sword?)

Ignoring the fact that I'm perpetually in debt right now , Halloween has me thinking, "what to cosplay next?"

Idea #1



Nana Osaki from NANA

Nana, lead singer of the punk band, Black Stones, and part of the shoujo that swept North America by storm. Why Nana? With piercings and a never-ending-chain of cigarettes, why the girl I have absolutely nothing in common with? Because she's so damn COOL. That's why. Need there be more reason?

No really, I think BLAST!'s Nana is an idol for any girl out there . Like one of the NANA club mottos here on DA, "every girl needs her NANA". Even if Nana's spunky attitude may be nothing like yours, as a woman, you can't help but admire her headstrong qualities. She doesn't let anything get her down, in otherwise a demanding and lonely life. However, as you go on in the manga, we see that Nana O. isn't just some kind of superficial inhuman beast. She does have vulnerabilities, flaws, and inside is a girl like any one of us, subject to the mercy of life. Her friendship with Hachi is a pleasure to read about, so I hope my friend will go as Hachi Plus the Vivienne Westwood-inspired wardrobe would just be awesome to have! and fairly easy to put together (or so I think). Another plus is that she doesn't play an instrument in the band, so I don't have to worry about pretending to play one

Nana's cosplay will be fairly affordable, recognizable, but some parts may be hard to do (like I really can't get more piercings, ). It's also the kind of thing that looks better in a pair... anyway, moving on!

Yoruichi Shihouin from BLEACH

Probably the sexiest cat out there in the anime world, Yoruichi is just one of my favourite characters ever. Bleach is a series guilty of having many fan-service characters, lol, but Yoruichi's sexiness comes off as genuine to me. She's just kick ass, okay? Her dark complexion and bright orange coat attract me right away, it's such a unique combination! Plus her pairing with Soi Fong would make for cool pics (If I could find a Soi Fong, )

Not a real couple (or so I think, I'm like WAY behind in Bleach), but Tousen x Yoruichi are smoking hawt together!


One of the few fanarts on DA that show the beautiful side of Yoruichi. Sadly most fanart reduce her to nothing but a pin-up model. Yoruichi is so much more awesome than that, and this does justice.

Fem-Kouga (Kouga as a Girl!!)

Haha yes, I'm taking everyone's favourite wolf-boy and turning him into a WOMAN!

Kouga was my first crossplay, but why not turn it around and make him, er, cross-dress? lol. I always thought the idea of a fem-kouga would be pretty cool! I mean the outfit would look awesome on a chick too ^_^ So it would take some creativity here and there, but it can be done. Do you think it'd look awesome or should I just re-make my old Kouga?
