Orooo......... I know, I know already... it's been FAR too long since Kaliko has updated, has it not? Well, I'm more than happy to finally have a new *fanart* finished ^__^. It's felt like forever since I've gotten to make an artistic tribute to anime! And seeing as I just finished the FFU series, I thought a group picture would be rather appropriate ^_^. This is dedicated to my darling boyfriend *Tenshi-Musouka, who first got me into the series (and I bought him the boxset for Christmas! X3). This artwork features all the characters I liked the most, though definitely not all. There are plenty of interesting characters in the series, but this is only as much as I could physically draw in, X3.

This is done in my traditional and practically trademarked medium, markers and pencil crayon. Though this time, I decided to exclusively use Primsacolor pencil crayons (which I had once so AVIDLY DETESTED) because I found they blent better. I'm really happy with how it turned out overall, especially since it was my first time drawing these characters. I also noticed that the picture has a sort of Mannerist feeling to it, with the acid greens and oranges, and the sense of crowding and crisp lines ^_^. You know you've had too much art history when...? X3.

Cel-style! I haven't done that in ages. Colouring Kenshin took the longest out of the whole artwork. He was mainly an original concept (the pose and such) so it took a while to figure out where the cel-shading should go, and needless to say, the hair was brutal to do >>;

Favorite Aspects
The kind of "glowy" effect near the characters, especially beside White Cloud and Kaze. This was achieved by eraser ^_^;; It took away the pencil crayon and left a tinge of colour behind, which gave a neat result

Least Favorite Aspects
The logo >>;; It was so plain compared to the rest of picture! And I never noticed it until now, but the logo is crooked >>; Arghs.. I hate how things always look different once scanned! lol

.: conclusion :.

This was a good starting piece for my first of FFU fanarts ^_^! I hope to do some more of White Cloud and his brother, Red Mist, because their designs are so awesome! And possibly a gothic style one of Lisa, White Cloud and Kaze. Or Ciel Chobobo? Hehehhe ^_^. Look forward to it! And coming up next... (hopefully)... HIKARU NO GO FANART!
