Artist's CommentsAn Eternal Sunrise Type: CG Media/Tools: Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Based on: Original Concept; Background reference from Walter Foster's "How to Draw and Paint: Clouds & Skyscapes" Canvas: 1000 x 803 px Date Created: August 12th - August 25th, 2005 Anime/Series: Inu Yasha Character(s): Kagome Higurashi, Inu Yasha My Comments: .: intro :. Some may have seen my IY / Kagome CG for this piece earlier in my Scraps. Miraculously I managed to finish this one in due time and I am rather happy with it (To read the full version of this poem, check out this [link] ) If any of you are from MediaMiner, back in the "old days", you might remember when I (as Lovely Videl) posted up a similar Inu Yasha and Kagome fanart entitled "FOREVER" with the exact same quote. That fanart was a tribute to my favourite episode, Episode 48: Return to the Place Where We First Met. This artwork is almost like a second part to the first, from a completely different view. I also created it to compare how my CG skills have developed since two years ago. .: artwork :. CG was the choice of media once again, mostly due to the fact that for the last few months, I haven't had any traditional media to work with (markers dead, paints dry T_T). I also went with it because the original "FOREVER" fanart was done in this way. This piece consisted of more layers (in Photoshop) than I normally worked with. Doing the basic cel-style CG for IY/Kag didn't take long, and was done in about 3 layers (but I didn't ink them when I scanned it -- biiiig mistake that took "forever" to rectify As some of you may have already noticed, yes, our two lovebirds do not actually have eyes drawn on. This is partially because they're in a semi-side profile and the eyes would look awkward, IMO, if they were to be drawn in. Another reason is because without the eyes, it's easy to wander along their whole character art instead of just focusing on facial expression. Then the viewer wanders into the rest of the scene. This way, those loving emotions that radiate between the two are no longer confined to the popular realm of facial expressions, but instead are written throughout the piece in colours, textures, body language and especially the included text. The background took the longest to do, though not as scarily long as you might think. I've probably worked on the background for about 3-4 days. Favourite Aspect Honestly the grass and the bush turned out 1283018203808 times better than I thought it would (I had reeaaally low expectations Least Favourite Aspect I didn't ink outline IY/Kag and that made a lot of unnecessary problems throughout the making of this peice. .: message :. The message is pretty clear in this one. Anyone who's seen Episode 48 probably understands the meaning behind Kagome's words in the poem I wrote, and may be able to relate this scene to the end scene of that episode. All in all, I just wanted to convey a devotion, a sweetness, that the two have to each other. The art piece is most definitely romantic, but at the same time, it has the light, happy feeling that surrounds this couple. Even though they are not entirely upfront with their feelings in the series, they still witness sunrise after sunrise thankful for each other's presence. .: conclusion :. Well, it's a busy time for me with moving and all, so this might be the last piece for another few weeks. I hope you enjoyed it! Peace. Love. I love every little detail. The grass and bush did turn out so amazing looking. I love the sun rays too! And the clouds. It makes the scene look so epic!
InuYasha and Kagome have the perfect lighting on them to fit in with the background.I love the contrast on them. The whole overall picture looks so beautiful.... Amazing!
